Description

Adafruit Pro Trinket 3V 12MHz combines all the good of the trinket with the fame of the Arduino chip, the ATmega328. It is like an Arduino Pro Mini with more pins and USB onboard. With 18 GPIO, 2 extra analog inputs, 28K Flash and 2K RAM.

Adafruit Pro Trinket 3V 12MHz

Like the Trinket onboard USB bootloading support with a MicroUSB connector. Optiboot support, so it can be programmed with USB or with a FTDI cable.

Adafruit Pro Trinket 3V 12MHz uses ATMEGA328P chip, the same chip found in Arduino UNO / Duemilanove / Mini / etc. It uses 3V logic and 12MHz clock, which means it's good if you want a lower power and lower voltage setup. Pro Trinket is programmable using the Arduino IDE once set up, and 95% of Arduino projects will work out of the box!

Adafruit Pro Trinket 3V 12MHz manual

Please note the following points:
– Pins #2 and #7 are not available, in use for USB
– The Pro Trinket 3V runs at 12MHz, be careful with timing libraries.
– The onboard power supply is a 3.3V regulator and provides 150mA output
– Does not work with shields
– There is no Serial-to-USB chip onboard.
– The bootloader uses 4KB FLASH the maximum sketch size is 28,672 bytes.

My second Arduino board. This very compact design can simply run the Arduino Uno code. You can connect a USB cable to it to program the board and supply it with power, but if you are used to debugging via your serial monitor, I recommend that you immediately order a USB to UART TTL cable. Consumes considerably less power than e.g. the Uno! I have not yet noticed anything aqua speed, because the clock frequency is 12 Mhz. This Trinket is prepared to connect a Li-ion battery to it, the tiny charger can be soldered on separately. Purchased for mobile projects in compact housings. 3-3.3 volt sensors and breakouts can be connected directly to this Trinket, but if you have 5 volt sensors, you must have a 5 volt supply voltage, e.g. a step-up board. If you use 5 volt sensors/breakouts and equipped with SPI or I2C, I also recommend a bidirectional level shifter.
