With this I2C LCD interface you can control a LCD display via the SDA/SCL, I2C interface (2 pins). This way you keep the rest of the pins free for shields and sensors, with a 16×2 disply this saves 5 pins on an arduino!
Works with the LiquidCrystal library to display text or characters via the SDA/SCL interface.

Good LCD driver via I2C. Very easy to use. Shows the text very quickly (no difference with the normal connection).
It is also very useful that you can turn off the background lighting via a command.

Google: fmalpartida new-liquidcrystal to install the I2c library for your arduino. The I2c address of the Funduino LCM1602 I2C Backpack is 0x27 by default, but can even be set on the backpack from 0x20-0x27. Tip: if the lcd is on but you don't see any text, it can help to turn the potentiometer on the back of the i2c backpack.

Great I2C LCD interface.
Please note: Unlike some similar red “funduino” backpacks that come pre-assembled on some displays, these boards have two pull-up resistors (4k7) on the SDA and SCL pins.
So these are constantly digitally “high” with a voltage of 5V when “floating” or not in use.
So be careful with 3V3 circuits, or use level converters.
