The LEDs light up one by one in a smooth loop effect, the speed of which is easily adjustable with a potentiometer. consists of an NE555 timer IC and a CD4017 decimal counter. Together, they form a clock and counter circuit that sequentially drives ten red LEDs. This creates the well-known “running light” or “waterfall LED” effect.
The NE555 acts as a pulse generator (astable multivibrator). The generated clock pulses are forwarded to the CD4017, which converts each pulse into the next output. As a result, the LEDs light up one by one. The 50K adjustment potentiometer allows the flashing speed to be precisely adjusted, from slow to fast.
The print on the PCB shows where the components should go. The longest leg on the components is the + and the short leg is the -.
Caution: Contains SMD components, not suitable for beginner solderers.
